Mary Utting - Newsletter Editor, Past President

With a A.B. degree in English from Cornell University, she spent 25 years in the newspaper business, first at the Miami Daily News and then at The Charlotte Observer, where she was women's editor for more than 13 years. She served as national director of Women in Communications, Inc., Austin, Texas, for eight years and then worked as a university editor at Texas A&M University at College Station for 15 years. She currently serves as coeditor of the Olde Mecklenburg Genealogical Society Quarterly (also a volunteer job).
